
John started his playing career at the age of eight initially being taught by his father and going on to study for The Royal London College of Music exams.
His natural talent has been the catalyst for countless Radio, TV. and Film appearances, including work on BBC national and local radio, several prime time BBC1 television appearances, and a place in the much acclaimed British film The Full Monty.
He has studied under some of the finest musical directors in the country, and has appeared with some of the great bands such as the world famous Black Dyke Mills, Grimethorpe and Yorkshire Imperial Metals.
Throughout his playing career John has toured extensively in the U.K, performing at many of the worlds finest concert halls including many appearances at the Royal Albert Hall. When you consider that John has also toured several European countries such as France, Holland and Germany, together with a thirteen date concert tour of Australia, taking in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane you begin to realise the breadth of his experience. After a brief spell away from the music scene, John made a return to playing in 2004 and was present at the recent inauguration celebrations for pope Benedict at the Vatican Square, Rome. In October of 2005 John was invited to play at the Malta Festival in front of the Maltese President and the U.S. ambassador.
On the non-musical front, John had the distinction of managing the England 6 a side team at the World Cup in Korea 2002. His side went on to win the competition, returning to the UK as World Champions.
